Bhubaneswar man bites on-duty traffic policeman, detained

In a freak incident, a person on Friday bit a traffic policeman, leaving the latter severely injured in Bhubaneswar. 

While the reason why the accused flew off the handle and bit the traffic cop is yet to be ascertained, the police have detained him for interrogation. 

According to sources, a series of accidents involving three cars occurred just in front of the Bharatpur Traffic post in the afternoon. A traffic constable went to the spot to clear the congestion. When he was doing his duty, a person, identified as a contractor supervising some work nearby, confronted the cop and bit him, leaving him seriously injured.

The injured cop was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, Bharatpur Police registered a case and detained the person and one of his associates for interrogation. 

Since a traffic cop was attacked, all eyes are now set on the police to see what action is being taken against the accused person.
