The infiltration of illegal migrants has raised security concerns, especially in border and coastal regions in the country. Odisha too has a vast coastline making it vulnerable to infiltrations.
Over the past ten years, as many as 41 criminal cases have been registered against Bangladeshi nationals in Odisha, further intensifying the need for stricter border surveillance and legal measures.
Authorities have been urged to take stringent actions, including verification drives, deportation processes, and policy-level interventions to curb the growing infiltration issue.
The Odisha government is expected to enhance coordination with central agencies to address the situation effectively and ensure the safety and demographic stability of the affected regions.
