Armed robbers tie bizman, loot Rs 14 lakh, jewellery from house in Nabarangpur

A businessman’s house at Bhalukanadi village under Nabarangpur’s Jharigaon block was targeted by armed miscreants who decamped with valuables on Sunday night.

As per reports, businessman, Amiya Kumar Dash was asleep at night when around 10 miscreants entered his home. They allegedly tied his hands and put a sword on his neck while burgling his home of cash and valuables.

The robbers who had masks on their faces spoke in Hindi and allegedly looted Rs 14 lakh and some gold and silver jewellery from his home.

Jharigaon police was informed about the incident which launched a probe to nab the robbers.

Recently, armed miscreants had reportedly looted two houses at Chakalapadar Panchayat under the same Jharigaon block on January 27.

It is suspected that a robber gang from a neighbouring State is involved in all these loots.

No comments could be obtained from the police in this connection.
