Archana Nag has lodged a complaint in Bhubaneswar, accusing her husband, Jagabandhu, of attempting to kill her and their son. According to the FIR filed late last night, Jagabandhu allegedly broke into her residence in the middle of the night, armed with a knife, and tried to attack them with the intent to kill.

Sources revealed that the couple has been living separately due to an ongoing divorce case. Archana claimed that the sudden assault was a deliberate attempt on her life.

Following the complaint, Mancheswar police detained Jagabandhu and recovered a knife from his possession.

Police confirmed that prima facie evidence, including the weapon, supported the charges. Sources added that Jagabandhu was picked up after initial verification of the allegations and is currently in custody for questioning.

According to reports, statements from Archana and her son have been recorded, and further evidence is being examined. Authorities are also probing whether the incident was premeditated.

Archana’s Previous Allegations

The latest development comes just over a month after Archana made sensational allegations against senior BJD leaders and police officials in July. In a press conference, she claimed her earlier arrest in the high-profile honey trap and extortion case was politically motivated.

Archana had named leaders, including Bobby Das, Manas Mangaraj, and Amaresh Jena, and accused senior police officers such as then Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh and ACP Prakash Pal of conspiring against her.

She further alleged that she was subjected to harassment in jail and even faced an attempt on her life through poisoning.

BJD leaders rejected the claims, calling them baseless and insisting that only the Court could determine the truth. Amaresh Jena, one of those named, said the matter was sub judice and denied any involvement.
