Archana Nag drops bombshell allegations against top BJD leaders and police officials including Bobby Das, IPS Prateek Singh

PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

Archana directly named prominent BJD leaders including Bobby Das, Manas Mangaraj, and Amaresh Jena, accusing them of orchestrating a plot to frame her.

Archana Nag

In a dramatic escalation of an already controversial case, Archana Nag, who was previously arrested in connection with high-profile extortion and honeytrap allegations, on Saturday, made explosive claims against top BJD leaders and senior police officials.

In a press conference, Archana alleged that her arrest was part of a deep-rooted and politically motivated conspiracy to silence her.

Archana directly named prominent BJD leaders including Bobby Das, Manas Mangaraj, and Amaresh Jena, accusing them of orchestrating a plot to frame her.

She also took aim at senior police officers, naming Prateek Singh, the then DCP of Bhubaneswar, and Prakash Pal, the then ACP, as being complicit in the plan. According to her, Himansu Sahu and Anup Kanungo, the then IIC of Balianta police station, were also involved.

‘Attempt Made To Kill Me’

She further claimed that under the guise of ‘jail parade’, police officials were making frequent visits to her in jail.

"There was an attempt to kill me by injecting poison inside the jail," she said, adding that she survived only due to the help of a few undertrial inmates.

FIR At Khandagiri PS, Arrested By Balianta Police

Raising questions over procedural lapses, Archana asked, “If the FIR was filed at Khandagiri Police Station, why did the Balianta Police take me into custody?”

She also alleged that her house's CCTV hard disk was deliberately destroyed and that all the devices seized from her were returned after being tampered with. “Every switch was turned off. All evidence was wiped,” she claimed.

Conspiracy Behind Arrest?

“The entire case against me was politically motivated. It was carefully scripted to silence me,” she alleged. “The complainant who filed the complaint against me was bribed by BJD to do so. I have proof of this in my possession,” Archana claimed, though she did not present those proofs publicly during the press conference.

Archana further alleged that she was subjected to mental harassment in jail. According to her, she was pressured to leave the state and was coerced into declaring herself mentally unstable in custody.

“There were attempts to label me insane inside the prison. I was denied basic rights, tortured mentally, and warned of grave consequences if I didn’t comply,” she told reporters.

She also claimed that there is a powerful nexus working to erase her voice from the political and social discourse.

As of now, no official response has been received from any of the BJD leaders or police officers named by Archana Nag.

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has responded to the serious allegations made by Archana Nag. Former MLA Latika Pradhan commented on the matter, stating that anyone can make allegations, and no one is barred from doing so. However, she emphasized that if Archana Nag has anything substantial to say, she should present her facts and evidence before the court.

Latika further said that making public accusations is one thing, but it is the judicial system that will ultimately determine the truth based on proper legal procedure.

“I have no idea why she went to jail. Nobody from BJD is involved. Anyone can level allegations, but there is a court to resolve issues,” said Pradhan.

Amaresh Jena, against whom Archana levelled serious allegations, stated that, “The matter is sub-judice. The allegations are baseless. I have no involvement and no idea why my name was taken. The matter needs to be investigated. I have not heard what she (Archana) has said.
