In yet another security breach at Puri Srimandir, a devotee from Kolkata was caught wearing glasses equipped with a hidden camera while attempting to have a close-up darshan of the deity. The devotee has been identified as Arup Ray.

In yet another security breach at Puri Srimandir, a devotee from Kolkata was caught wearing glasses equipped with a hidden camera while attempting to have a close-up darshan of the deity. The devotee has been identified as Arup Ray.

According to sources, temple security personnel became suspicious when they noticed the unusual glasses and detained Ray for further inquiry. 

He was first held inside the temple premises before being handed over to the Singhadwara police station for investigation.

Authorities are questioning him to ascertain the purpose behind carrying the camera-equipped eyewear. No further details regarding any charges have been disclosed at this time.

Earlier on July 29, another youth from Puri was caught with a hidden camera device while attempting to record visuals inside the 12th century shrine. The camera was reportedly designed to transmit photos and videos directly to his mobile phone in real time.

Meanwhile, the repeated incidents have sparked concern over the misuse of modern spy gadgets in high-security religious sites, where photography and videography are strictly prohibited.
