Anganwadi worker Divyabharti Ada
In a bone-chilling incident, an Anganwadi worker was brutally hacked to death by her one-sided lover for allegedly refusing his marriage proposal. The shocking incident was reported in Julumbahal Purana village under Hemgiri police limits in the Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Divyabharti Ada.
According to sources, the accused Sarat Kaudi was in a one-sided love with the Anganwadi worker Divyabharti and had been following her for a long time. He had even proposed to her multiple times. However, Divya rejected his advances and warned him to mend his ways.
Despite repeated rejections, he was adamant on marrying her. Agitated by being turned down repeatedly, Sarat hatched a plan to kill Divya. He hid in an isolated bush with a sharp-edged weapon and attacked Divya while she was returning home from work causing her death, sources informed, adding that, the accused has been on the run after committing the heinous crime.
Based on a complaint by Divya’s uncle, Hemgiri police registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
“As both of them belonged to different castes, Divya had warned him to mend his ways. Moreover, she did not love him and had other plans in life. However, the accused Sarat continued to harass her and killed her when she rejected his advances,” a local alleged.
