Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’ style ganja smuggling busted in Bolangir

In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics trade, Saintala police uncovered an innovative way of ganja smuggling in Bolangir on Monday in a unique case unlike any seen before.

At first glance, the packages reportedly appeared to be ordinary paper rolls, but upon opening, they were found to be tightly packed with ganja.

Acting on a tip-off regarding illegal ganja transportation, police set up a checkpoint along National Highway 26 near Baragaon. Upon inspection of a vehicle, officers seized over one quintal of ganja.

The accused have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar Mishra of Sonepur and Devanta Karna of Boudh district. Both of them were arrested and produced before the court.

Earlier in April this year, the Commissionerate Police had seized a truck loaded with a massive quantity of ganja (dry cannabis) during a special operation conducted in Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a trap and successfully intercepted the vehicle while a deal was reportedly underway.
