Accused chases and hacks 5 police officials in Balasore

An attempt-to-murder case accused allegedly chased and hacked five members of a police team including a Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector in Jamudidahi area under Nilagiri Police Station of Balasore district on Friday. The accused also attacked a Gramarakhi as well.

According to sources, the accused has been identified as Padmalochan Patra.

As per reports, the police team along with the Gramarakhi had gone to Patra’s house to serve a notice in connection with an attempt-to-murder case. However, the accused lost his cool after watching the police team at his house. Subsequently, he chased and attacked the police team with a sharp-edged weapon and injured many of them.

Eventually, the police team managed to overpower Patra. He has been detained at Nilagiri Police Station. The injured police personnel have been admitted to the nearby hospital.
