The process of dismantling the air-conditioned (AC) corridor and removal of barricades on Bada Danda (Grand Road) near Srimandir in Puri has been completed ahead of the upcoming Snana Purnima and Rath Yatra of the Holy Trinity.

As per Sri Jagannath Temple Administration, the barricades have been dismantled owing to traffic jams and other disruptions being faced in the construction of the chariots for the upcoming Rath Yatra to be held on July 7.

Notably, the AC corridor was set up by the Odisha government from Marchikot Square Srimandir for the convenience of devotees waiting in queues to enter the shrine. However, the corridor will not be required anymore after the opening of all four dwaras (doors) of Srimandir as promised by BJP.

Several devotees and servitors have expressed their pleasure over the development.

"It's a welcoming development. Devotees should get the darshan of Holy Trinity conveniently. All the four dwaras of Srimandir should be opened and all necessary arrangements should be made accordingly," said a servitor.

"We will be very happy if the government takes the initiative to open all the four doors of Srimandir soon," said a devotee.

"Tourists across the globe are coming to Puri to have darshan of Lord Jagannath. They are facing difficulties due to the heavy rush as entry is allowed only through one door. We request the government to open all four doors of Srimandir for the convenience of the devotees," said another devotee.
