Jharapada jail
In yet another incidence of violence in the jail, as many as three employees including the warden of Jharapada jail, Bhubaneswar, were injured in the alleged attack by three hardcore jail inmates on Friday.
As per reports, three hardcore inmates of Jharapada jail allegedly attacked the warden with a piece of blade and the latter sustained severe injuries in the process.
Subsequently, the jail alarm was on and Laxmisagar police was pressed into action immediately to bring the situation under control.
The accused prisoners have been identified as Santosh Nayak, Ajay Nayak and Narana Mohanty.
A complaint has been lodged against the three accused at Laxmisagar police station in connection with the case.
However, the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
Notably, one of the accused was at the centre of the discussion after shooting himself holding a knife in his hand on a mobile phone on September 22. Subsequently, the knife and the mobile phone were seized.
Meanwhile, a question mark has been raised over the security arrangement inside Jharapada jail following the incident.
