14 BJP MLAs in touch with us, Naveen Patnaik-led BJD will form govt again very soon: Munna Khan

Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Munna Khan has caused quite an uproar in Odisha politics after claiming that the previous Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government would come back to power once again very soon.

The senior BJD leader launched a blistering attack on the saffron party, saying it is just a whistle away from crumbling. 

Attending a ‘Jansampark Padyatra’ in Nabarangpur, Munna made the tall claims that 14 BJP MLAs are in touch with BJD and can help them dissolve the current BJP government, that has been formed for the first time in Odisha.

“Before the elections, at least 22 of our party leaders left BJD and joined BJP. Now, they have become MLAs. Out of the 22, at least 14 are in touch with us. Very soon, they will leave the saffron party and join us. So, we will form the government once again,” Munna claimed.

He further claimed that at least 90% of the block and zilla parishads are under BJD and expressed confidence in winning 100 seats if the elections were held again.

In response to Munna Khan’s claim, BJP has hit back hard.

Senior BJP leader Jaynarayan Mishra said that he is doubtful whether BJD will exist till 2029 or not.

“All the leaders of BJD are now concerned about their future. While communicating with us, many leaders of the Opposition party are expressing their concerns about their future after seeing the current situation of their party. BJD is currently going through a leadership crisis. BJD leaders are now worried who will be their leader and lead the party,” said Mishra.

“Are they reaching two third majority if 14 BJP MLAs join them? One who is claiming it doesn’t know mathematics. One who doesn’t know the mathematics of politics speaks like this. BJD is a party of slavery,” he added.
