10 goats charred to death, property worth lakhs reduced to ashes in cylinder explosion

A massive fire broke out in Balanga village of Angul district, causing widespread panic and destruction. The incident, which reportedly began due to a suspected short circuit, soon turned into a terrifying inferno after a gas cylinder exploded with a loud blast, engulfing the entire area in flames.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started inside a household and quickly spread to nearby structures. The situation escalated rapidly when the heat caused a domestic LPG cylinder to burst, triggering a powerful explosion that intensified the blaze. The deafening sound of the blast could be heard from a distance, and thick plumes of smoke covered the sky as the fire raged through the neighbourhood.

Local residents tried their best to control the fire, but the intensity of the flames made it difficult. By the time fire brigade teams reached the spot, significant damage had already occurred. The fire completely gutted a house and turned nearby property into ashes.

10 Goats Charred To Death

Tragically, ten goats were charred to death in the fire, and property worth several lakhs of rupees has been destroyed, according to preliminary estimates. Household items, food grains, furniture, and other valuable belongings were reduced to cinders.

Authorities are now investigating the exact cause of the short circuit and assessing the total loss. The affected family has been left devastated and is currently being supported by local villagers. Fire officials have urged residents to check all electrical connections regularly and to store gas cylinders safely to avoid such tragedies in the future.
