'Sexual favour for transfer' - Lady ASI brings sexual harassment allegations against homeguard in Sonepur

A lady Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted in Sonepur has levelled sexual harassment allegations against a homeguard. The allegations have been levelled against homeguard Rajkumar Pradhan.

As per the allegations, the concerned ASI had contacted Pradhan, who is posted at Sonepur police headquarters, regarding her transfer in the month of August. The complainant ASI had reportedly approached the homeguard after coming to know that he had good links with the Sonepur Superintendent of Police. However, as per her allegations, Pradhan sought sexual favours from the complainant against her transfer.

Though the lady ASI later lodged a complaint with the SP, no action was allegedly taken against Pradhan. Later, the complainant lodged a formal complaint in connection with the matter with the Northern-range IG.

The complainant has further alleged that the concerned homeguard and some senior officials are trying to implicate her in false Ganja (dry cannabis) case.

Meanwhile, an additional-rank SP is carrying out an inquiry in connection with the allegations levelled by the lady ASI.

No comments could be obtained from the concerned homeguard against the allegations levelled against him by the lady ASI. Similarly, Sonepur SP also refused to comment on the matter.
