In a major development, the Odisha government has transferred Koida BDO Pallabi Rani Raj, who is entangled in several alleged controversies, from Sundargarh to Sambalpur.

A notification by the Government of Odisha, Revenue and Disaster Management Department read, “Ms. Pallabi Rani Raj, BDO, Koida has been hereby placed in GA&PG Deptt. For her posting in O/o RDC(ND), Sambalpur.”

It is worthwhile to mention here that, the woman BDO continued to be in news for her rough personal life, filing a case against her father, alleged misbehaviour against common people and people’s representatives and misuse of MLA funds, involvement in corruption and allegedly blocking development works in the block.

A few days back, the OAS officer had filed a police complaint against her father Ramesh Chandra and brother Sangram Kumar alleging assault.

Similarly, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) had observed a 6-hour bandh last week demanding the transfer of the BDO accusing her of improper utilisation of developmental funds and unruly behaviour.

Moreover, political parties Congress and BJP had also demanded the transfer of the controversial BDO alleging high-handedness and an attempt to diminish the importance of people’s representatives.
