YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was in direct touch with Pakistan on day of Pahalgam terror attack

A shocking espionage scandal continues to unfold with fresh revelations surrounding Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested recently on charges of spying for Pakistan.

According to intelligence sources, Malhotra was allegedly in direct contact with Pakistani handlers on April 22, the very day when a terrorist attack occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

Investigating agencies have confirmed that she was in communication with Pakistan’s notorious intelligence agency ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) on the day of the attack, a detail that has now become a crucial part of the ongoing investigation.

Communications with ISI Under Scanner

As per sources, the Indian security establishment has tracked Malhotra’s interactions with Pakistani agents, and these conversations are now being analysed in detail.

Reports added that investigators are particularly focused on the content of her messages and calls exchanged on the day of the Pahalgam incident.

Malhotra, who goes by the YouTube name ‘Travel With Jo ', is currently in a five-day police remand, during which the Haryana Police is said to be extracting vital data from her digital devices.

Police are said to be examining her travel records, bank details, and international movements, including a visit to China, which are being thoroughly probed.

Frequent Trips to Pakistan Raise Alarms

The Hisar SP confirmed that Jyoti was a regular visitor to Pakistan, often under the guise of sponsored travel.

Sources indicate that she was present in Pakistan shortly before the Pahalgam attack took place. This pattern of travel, combined with her digital footprint, has convinced investigators that she may have been functioning as an ‘asset’ for ISI.

Further, bank transactions and chat records are being scoured for evidence of foreign funding or suspicious financial activity linked to her espionage activities.

Odisha Link: Puri YouTuber Also Questioned

The arrest has sent shockwaves beyond Haryana, reaching Odisha, where another YouTuber, Priyanka Senapati from Puri, is under the scanner. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has already questioned her regarding her association with Jyoti Malhotra.

Malhotra had visited Puri in September 2024, reportedly filming around Jagannath Temple and other sensitive locations, during which she was accompanied by Senapati.

Security agencies now fear that visual and geolocation data from the holy temple town could have been shared with foreign intelligence operatives. Regardless, a high-level probe into the matter is ongoing.
