Kashmir has always been under the threat of terrorist activities, conflicts and several other issues that instilled fear in the minds of the people. However, the abrogation of Article 370 ended the special status paving a new way for the residents of Kashmir

It's been three years now, and the residents of Kashmir have witnessed several developments for the first time ever. The revocation of Article 370 has come with a new ray of hope for the people of the valley.

In a major move after around three decades, Kashmir will get its first cinema in the form of a multiplex theatre in Srinagar. Such a move in Kashmir will act as a major boost to the entertainment sector in the valley and also improve employment opportunities for the youth.

It is pertinent to mention here that the theatres in Kashmir were shut down in 1990 after an unforeseen surge in militancy activities in the valley.

The multiplex will likely be thrown open to the public from September. It has been designed by INOX and will have three auditoriums and the latest sound systems will be installed in each of the auditoriums with comfortable seating facilities.

The multiplex has been designed with a seating capacity of 520. Moreover, the multiplex also has food courts and several other entertainment facilities which will play a major role in attracting children.

We are starting the first multiplex in Kashmir designed by INOX. There are three auditoriums in which the latest sound systems are installed. Recliner seats and normal seats are made available at the auditoriums. A silver screen is also being used," ANI quoted the Project Manager, Vishaq.

On the other hand, Vijay Dhar, Chairman of the project said that the youngsters should get the same facilities in the multiplex as they get in other towns outside Kashmir.

"We saw there had been no such thing here for 30 years, we thought why not? So, we have just started," Dhar was quoted as saying.

The work is underway and progressing in full swing with an aim of completion, as soon as possible.
