Ahmedabad: The Nanavati Commission, probing the 2002 riot cases, today rejected the application of an NGO seeking to cross examine IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt with regard to allegations made by him against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in an affidavit in the Supreme Court.

Retired Justices G T Nanavati and Akshay Mehta also adjourned the cross examination of Bhatt by the state government after the IPS officer requested for certified copies of his statements recorded earlier by the Commission, stating that lot of time has gone by since his last deposition.
