It was no less than a dream come true for Kiran Mohanty to secure Rank 6 in the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) 2019 exams, the results of which were announced by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Friday.

Mohanty, who hails from Phulbani in Kandhamal district, holds a journalism and mass communication degree from Utkal University. Accolades and congratulatory messages are making a beeline for Mohanty after cracking the Odisha Civil Services with flying colours.

“My ultimate goal is to crack UPSC in 2022. I had started preparations for the UPSC and in-between appeared for the OPSC Civil Services exams. So far the journey has been satisfactory and all credit goes to my family,” said an elated Mohanty.

According to Mohanty, he joining the Indian Administrative Services has always been a dream of his grandparents.

“My parents have always stood by me as strong pillars and they always encouraged me for studies and other activities,” he said.

“As I had participated in over 300 essay and other competitions since my school days, it helped me a lot,” he added.

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Friday announced the final results of the main written examination of the Odisha Civil Services (OCS)-2019. 153 candidates have successfully cleared the prestigious test and selected for appointment to various posts under the Odisha Civil Services (Group A and Group B). Out of the total 153 successful candidates, 56 are women.
