After his body was found hanging in his house on June 24 (Friday), OTV had reported that his family had donated his eyes at a hospital so that another person can benefit from this.

However, the nurse, Sumitra Rout, who helped donate his eyes after death turned out to be an acquaintance of Raimohan who usually meets her during his morning and evening walks.

As per Rout’s claims, Raimohan had once urged her to take out his eyes and let him die in order to be a part of this noble deed of eye donation.

Speaking to OTV correspondent Atulya Bout, she said, “He was a happy-go-lucky, jovial man. I have never seen him depressed or stressed. We met on morning walks and exchanged pleasantries. That is all.”

when I told him that I work at an eye hospital which facilitates and executes eye donations, he was in all praise and said that I wish I die soon so that my eyes too can be donated to another person in need,” Rout claimed.

Rout further said, “He never came across as a negative person like the characters he usually played in movies. In reality, he was the exact opposite and a gem of a person. I hope the truth behind his death comes out soon.”

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar DCP, Prateek Singh has confirmed that Raimohan was indeed under depression before his death, but the exact reason behind this is still unknown.

Speaking to the reporters, Singh said, “The probe is underway. We are questioning his family members, neighbours and his driver. But the no triggering factor could be ascertained yet that could lead to his suicide.”

Raimohan had visited the Manchaswar Police station some months back. However, the DCP denied to divulge the reason behind his visit citing this has nothing to do with his suicide.
