Panic In Nandankanan Zoo As Tiger Escapes Fence, Later Spotted Inside Safari

Terror pervaded the entire Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar after a Royal Bengal Tiger escaped from fence inside tiger safari on Thursday.

According to reports, the Bengal Tiger named Suraj broke through the fence inside the safari while it was being fed by zoo staff. The incident triggered panic among hundreds of visitors as the authorities failed to find the big cat inside the safari and raised an alarm.

Zoo authorities immediately swung into action to evacuate the premises and closed all the gates. 
Later, after a long and thorough inspection, the zoo employees heaved a big sigh of relief as Suraj was finally spotted roaming inside the safari.

“Now, everything has returned to normalcy and visitors have returned inside the zoo again,” said an official.
According to some visitors, the incident however has raised questions about the safety measures inside the zoo.
