Is the prime accused, Gobinda Sahu, in the lady teacher Mamita Meher murder case trying to mislead the investigation? Such questions have been haunting independent observers as in sharp contrast to Sahu's earlier assertion that he had set on fire the victim's belongings, bag etc., along with her body, the twist to the fore today is Mamita's family members have identified some of her belongings, including anklets and other ornaments, shown by police.

However, the big turning point has been the identification of the victim’s bag, recovered from Sahu's close aide Radhe's house, by her mother, though she was unable to identify other belongings in the bag. “The gold chain, anklets and other items including bag has been identified by Mamita’s mother.

Though she identified the bag, she could not identify the mobile phone and clothes recovered from the bag,” said deceased Mamita’s uncle, Kaushik Meher.

Under such circumstances, it is not yet clear whether the three pair of clothes recovered from the bag belonged to Mamita or someone else.

The bag was spotted by accused Radhe’s wife and was taken away by police. A few days ago, Radhe's wife has revealed about a bag with women clothes, mobile, jewelleries etc, which she claimed was whisked away by the police.

Meanwhile, questions are also being raised over the use of mobile phone by Gobinda Sahu after he escaped from police custody. Who helped him or handed him phone is still a mystery.

It is worth mentioning that Sahu was arrested from a sugarcane field after cops swooped on him by tracking the cell phone. So far, three mobile phones have been recovered from his possession. But the mobile phone of the victim is yet to be recovered. And the mobile of Mamita is being considered as the key evidence to unravel the plot in the murder case
