The principal opposition party BJP has been unrelenting in attacking the Naveen Patnaik led BJD government over the brutal Mamita murder case since the day one. First, the LoP in Odisha Assembly, Pradipta Naik, made a tweet alleging cosy relationship between MoS (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra and key accused Gobinda Sahu on the day when Sahu made a dramatic escape from police barracks in Titlagarh. Later, a fact-finding BJP team went to the ground zero in Kalahandi.

The party, which has swept the 2017 Zilla Parishad in Kalahandi, held 12-hour band in the district. Even, national spokespersons of the party - Tejaswi Surya (MP), S Vaneeta - have called for dropping of the MoS (Home) from Odisha Cabinet. And on Saturday, the saffron party had moved the protest to Capital roads, when the BJP Mahila Morcha’s tok out a massive protest in Bhubaneswar, where they took a funeral procession of 'Dead' law and Order in Odisha from the Party office to Naveen Niwas.

Today it is the turn of party president Samir Mohanty. Taking the podium today, Mohanty launched a blistering attack on CM Patnaik and his government. Addressing a presser, Mohanty announced that the BJP will intensify its ongoing agitation seeking removal of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra.

“As a head of the State, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should clarify to the people whether the investigation of the case will be handed over to CBI or any action will be taken against the concerned Minister,” asked Mohanty.

Mohanty threw many more posers to the government. The party has demanded answers from the government on the sanction of grants to a private institute from the WODC funds.

Responding to the attack, BJD MLA Byomkesh Ray said, “It is a ploy by the Opposition to defame the party ahead of the Panchayat polls. The BJD-led by CM Naveen Patnaik always has delivered justice to all,” he said.
