A cyclonic circulation lies over coastal Odisha and neighbourhood and the eastwest trough now runs from Punjab to westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha coast across Haryana, south Uttar Pradesh, northeast Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm and heavy rainfall activities in coming days.

The IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar has also issued a ‘yellow warning’ in this regard. The IMD has also predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in other states.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda ,Sambalpur,Bargarh, Nuapada ,Bolangir Kalahandi.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.07.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj ,Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Jajpur.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.07.2022 up to 0830 HRS IST of 02.07.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj ,Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara Cuttack.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 03.07.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur ,Cuttack ,Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Keonjhar, Deogarh ,Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur ,Boudh.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 04.07.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi ,Bolangir, Kandhamal ,Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur ,Jharsuguda ,Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
