In a horrific incident, a Class X student was stabbed with a knife late Tuesday evening while returning from tuition at Anda village in Khurda district. The victim has been identified as the son of Panchanan Jena.

According to sources, the victim as usual had gone to his tuition today evening. Two miscreants, believed to be waiting for him in a pre-planned manner, stabbed him from the back, while he was returning home.

Luckily, the minor boy survived with minor injuries as the knife struck more on his school bag and pierced through his books. Before he could react and see anything, the two miscreants fled from the spot.

Hearing his scream for help, locals came to his rescue and rushed him to Khurda District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). The knife has pierced a little bit on his back, thanks to his school bag and the books inside it.

While no exact reason for the attack was ascertained immediately, locals suspect it to be a fallout over love affair. The miscreants wanted the victim to stay away from a girl that led to the attack, sources said.

However, police is yet to confirm the reason of the attack.

Meanwhile, acting on a complaint by the student and his family members, police registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the two miscreants behind the attack.
