A bus driver suffered a massive heart attack while driving the vehicle near Nagpur in Puri district on Tuesday.
However, all 49 passengers on board escaped unhurt as the bus conductor showed exemplary presence of mind and swift action to ensure safety of all the occupants inside the vehicle.
As per reports, a private bus named Maa rolled out from Nagpur bus stand in Puri towards Cuttack today morning. But after covering a distance of nearly 100 metres, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Sudarshan Sahu from Gop, collapsed on the steering wheel of the bus.
Fortunately, the conductor wasted little time to jump to the rescue of passengers and immediately put on the brakes to stop the vehicle.
The driver of the bus was shifted to Gop Hospital, however, the doctors declared him brought dead.
Luckily all passengers narrowly survived a major disaster thanks to the conductor’s smartness and swift action.
On the one hand while the locals and the passengers in the bus were effusive in their praise for the conductor for saving so many lives, a pal of gloom has descended in the village of the bus driver Sudarshan following his demise under shocking circumstances.
