A Fire Services department employee posted at Aska fire station committed suicide after he was allegedly denied leave.
The deceased has been identified as Dayanidhi Mahanta.
Mahanta's body was found hanging from a tree at Budhakendu forest in Bhanjanagar, Ganjam District on Tuesday morning.
A purported 'suicide' note recovered from his bag mentioned he was allegedly denied leave by higher officials despite repeated requests.
Meanwhile, Gangapur police have launched an investigation into the matter.
As per reports, Dayanidhi was under severe mental pressure for last two years as he was repeatedly denied leave.
In the ‘suicide' note, it has been mentioned that Dayanidhi was transferred 500 kms away from his home. As a result he was not able to go home for a long period of time and didn’t have any contact with them. Subsequently, his wife got married with another boy following repeated quarrel with him. His parents also passed away.
As per the 'suicide' note, Dayanidhi got frustrated following the developments and committed suicide.
