Oral and dental health are a window to a person's overall health and are therefore as crucial as other health issues. Here is a 3-way guide by Ayurveda to reducing the signs and symptoms of bad quality teeth and treating them at their best.

Chew a stem of neem

Neem has antibacterial qualities. The twigs and neem leaves have antibacterial compounds that are released and combined with saliva while chewing. This helps combat bacteria and keep our saliva at a healthy alkaline level. It also fights harmful oral germs and bacteria and prevents plaque buildup on the teeth, giving you a dazzling set of bright white ones.

(Caution: Despite being loaded with beneficial properties, pregnant ladies or women planning to have a baby should avoid neem, as  excessive heat produced by it could harm the foetus.)

Oil pulling

Oil pulling, which claims to pull harmful microorganisms from the mouth, is the practice of gargling with oil. It lowers oral bacterial levels, enhances gum health, helps avoid problems like mouth ulcers, cavities, and foul breath, hydrates the gums, boosts salivation, and enhances overall dental hygiene. Also, incorporating it into your regimen is quite straightforward and easy. Coconut, olive, or sesame oil can be used to swish around your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes without swallowing it. Do it in the morning on an empty stomach.

Organic toothpaste

Ayurveda claims that excessive fluoride or baking soda destroys gum tissue. The best toothpaste is astringent and bitter, prepared with essential herbs like fennel, babool, pilu, triphala, neem, cinnamon, and clove. Some of the decent herbal toothpastes are Meswak, Neema, and Vicco.
