Steven Guo, a 24-year-old entrepreneur, earns Rs 2.15 crore annually by working only 30 hours weekly. He began at age 12 hosting Minecraft servers and now runs global online stores.

In these competitive times, money does not come easy. While securing a job is tough, getting into the world of influencing on social media is increasingly becoming difficult due to the saturation of space. Amid such a scenario, a 24-year-old is earning a whopping Rs 2.15 crore annually by working only 30 hours a week.

The young man, named Steven Guo, recently disclosed that his secret was not in seeking jobs but in becoming an entrepreneur himself, in talks with CNBC Make IT.

All of it began when he earned $50 at the age of 12 as an offer by someone for hosting Minecraft servers. Soon enough, he began adding more such setups and earned about $10,000 (Rs 84,000) in a few months.

As of now, Steven Duo works six hours a day, five days a week. The work involves doing market research on the needs and requirements of a particular market or a client. Thereafter, he sets up his shops and retail businesses accordingly to generate maximum sales.

Spread across the UK, US, Philippines, and India, Duo has online stores selling dates, K-pop merchandise, premium car covers, and others. However, to run it all successfully, he dedicates sufficient time to research and study trends. Meanwhile, with the remaining time on his weekly schedule, the young entrepreneur surfs, hikes, and enjoys the Bali landscape.

With online platforms allowing users to set up online stores instantly and sell their products globally, it is quite accessible for today’s youth to follow such a move and run their own businesses, potentially earning enough to live well off and with a good work-life balance.
