The application process for the post of Junior Engineer (JE) will end today. Interested and eligible candidates must apply for the positions now by visiting the official site of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) at, ssc.nic.in, to avoid the last-hour rush.

The application fee for the SSC JE exam is Rs 100. However, women candidates and those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disabilities (PwD) and Ex-Servicemen have been exempted from the fee payment.

Important Dates for SSC JEE recruitment 2022

Last date and time for receipt of online applications: September 2 (2300 hours)

Last date and time for generation of offline Challan: September 2 (2300 hours)

Last date and time for making online fee payment: September 3 (2300 hours)

Last date for payment through Challan (during working hours of Bank): September 3

Date of ‘Window for Application Form Correction’ and online payment of Correction Charges: September 4 (2300 hours)

Moreover, the Commission has also shared tentative dates for the SSC JE computer based test (CBT). While the schedule of CBT is November 2022, the schedule of Paper-II (conventional) is yet to be notified.

The examination will consist of two papers- Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) and Paper-II (Descriptive). Now, have a look into the 'scheme of examination' below:

SSC JE Paper-l exam

(i) General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 questions)
(ii) General Awareness (50 questions)
(iii) Part-A: General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or Part-B: General Engineering (Electrical) or Part-C: General Engineering (Mechanical) [100 questions]

The duration of the exam is 2 hours but it is 2 hours and 40 minutes for the candidates who are eligible for scribe as per norms.

SSC JE Paper-II exam

Part-A: General Engineering (Civil & Structural) or Part-B: General Engineering (Electrical) or Part-C: General Engineering (Mechanical)

The total questions will be 300 carrying 1 mark each. The duration of the exam is 2 hours but it is 2 hours and 40 minutes for the candidates with scribe.

Important to Note

Paper-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English and Hindi.

There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I. The SSC has therefore advised candidates to keep this in mind while
answering the questions.
