The East Central Railway has released a notification for the engagement of Apprentices for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act’ 1961, and sought online applications. 

Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications, complete in all respects, by November 5 (5 PM), 2021. The railway has further advised candidates to apply before the closing date, so that inconvenience on account of heavy load on the website during the last days may be avoided.

Applications can be submitted for various positions like Fitter, Turner, Mechanist, Painter, Electrician, Wireman, Carpenter and Welder posts among others.

Railway Recruitment 2021 Vacancy Details

Age Limit: Candidates applying should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01.01.2021.

Relaxation in Upper Age Limit:

- By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities.
- By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.
- For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)-10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen in the age will be total military service plus 3 years subject to completion of at least six months regular attested service. 

Educational Qualification: 

Candidates need to have passed Matric/10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate, from recognised Board and ITI in relevant trade (i.e. National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training or Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training/State Council for Vocational Training).

Payment of Fees: Candidates will have to shell out Rs 100 (non-refundable) as Application fees and it has to be made online. No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates.

Mode of Selection:

Selection for Apprenticeship training will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification for a particular Division/Unit. 

The merit list will be prepared taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.

For the purpose of calculation of the percentage of Matriculation, marks obtained by the candidates in all subjects will be reckoned and not on the basis of marks of any subject or a group of subjects.

In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate with older age shall be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also same, then the candidate who passed Matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first.

Candidature of finally enlisted candidates for Apprenticeship Training will be subjected to verification of original documents and being found fit in appropriate Medical Examination.
