The Southern Railway has released recruitment notifications inviting applications for Apprentice posts. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the positions by visiting the official site, iroams.com.
The last date to apply for the Apprentice posts is till June 30, 2021. Through the recruitment drive, Southern Railway is likely to fill up 3322 posts in GOC workshop, Trichy and Madurai Divisions, Carriage & Wagon Works, Loco Works, Electrical Workshop, Railway Hospital/Perambur and Chennai Division, Trivandrum Division, Palghat Division, Salem Division and Signal & Telecommunication Workshop and Podanur.
The post of Apprentice will be filled in GOC workshop, Trichy and Madurai Divisions, Carriage and Wagon Works, Loco Works, Electrical Workshop, Railway Hospital/Perambur and Chennai Division, Trivandrum Division, Palghat Division, Salem Division and Signal and Telecommunication Workshop and Podanur.

Important to Note
The selected candidates shall be engaged in the unit of their choice subject to the extent of vacancies and they may have to engage in other units coming under the jurisdiction if so warranted by the administrative requirement.
The selected ITI/Non-ITI (Fresher’s) candidates have to execute a contract of apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act-1961 and if such candidates is minor his Guardian can execute the prescribed contract as per the guidelines of Regional Director of Apprenticeship Training, Guindy, Chennai.
Note: (i) Candidates selected for training will not be allowed to withdraw from training except for reasons, which are beyond their control. Before commencement of the training, the candidates have to execute a contract of Apprenticeship.
(ii) Those who willfully absent themselves are liable to refund the whole cost of their training as well as the amount paid as stipend as determined by the Central Apprenticeship Adviser.
(iii) If any declaration furnished by the candidate is found to be false, he/she will be disqualified/terminated at any stage of the training period without any notice
There is NO GUARANTEE FOR EMPLOYMENT and their contract of the apprenticeship will be terminated on completion training on completion of training. However, 20% of the vacancies in case of Direct recruitment through RRC’s will be filled giving preference to course completed act apprentices, read the official notification.
