The recruitment drive started by the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) to fill up 200 posts of junior maintenance and operator trainee (JMOT) is going to end soon. 

As per the notification of the OPTCL, the submission of online application forms for the contractual posts which commenced on September 14 will conclude in three days (October 14).

ITI qualified candidates in Electrician Trade, who are interested in the posts, can submit their online application forms by visiting the official website of OPTCL, www.optcl.co.in. 

The selected candidates will be initially appointed as a Junior Maintenance and Operator Trainee (JMOT) for a period of one year. On successful completion of Training period, they will be appointed as Junior Technician on Contractual basis for a period of 05 years and may be considered for appointment to the post of Junior Technician (Level: NE-3) on regular establishment in the Pay Matrix- Rs 22,700 to Rs 72,000 with Initial Basic Pay of Rs 22,700.    

How to Apply:

Candidates can apply for the posts by visiting the OPTCL website, www.optcl.co.in, and registered themselves to fill up online application for the posts. Application received through any other mode would not be accepted, read the official notice.

Application Fee: 

UR and SEBC candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 500 and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) of Odisha and PWD candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 250. 

Educational Qualification:

HSC pass from recognised Board or equivalent and ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade from NCVT with minimum 60 per cent marks for General and SEBC candidates and 50 per cent for SC/ST/PWD candidates. 

Age Limit: 

Candidate must not be under 18 years of age and must not be above 32 years as on September 1, 2021. There is relaxation for SC / ST/ SEBC, PWD, Ex-Servicemen and women as per norms.

Selection Process:

Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of Computer Based Test (CBT) and Skill Test and career marking. The Computer Based Test will comprise 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), out of which Subject Knowledge (80%), Numerical/ GK & Reasoning (10%) & English Knowledge (10%). 

Training: 

Selected candidates will have to undergo training for a period of one year at various units of OPTCL including Induction-cum-Orientation training at Power Training Centre (PTC), Chandaka, Bhubaneswar.

Salary: 

Selected candidates will draw a salary of Rs 11,500 (1st year), Rs 12,650 (2nd year), Rs 13,915 (third year), Rs 15,310 (4th year), Rs 16,845 (5th year) and Rs 18,530 (6th year). 

No other allowances or benefits would be admissible. However, TA/DA will be paid for official tours as per Rules of Corporation.
