The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Thursday announced extension of deadline for submitting online application forms for the posts of Professor in various public universities in the State.

According to the latest notification of the commission, the link for online registration as well as payment gateway which was closed on September 13, 2021 will be activated again from today (September 23).

"The Commission has been pleased to allow opening of link for online registration as well as payment gateway with effect from today i.e. 23.09.2021 till 30.09.2021 which was closed on 13.09.2021," the notification read.

Similarly, the last date for online submission has now been revised to October 11, 2021 which earlier was closed on September 21, 2021.

"All other terms and conditions of the advertisement for the recruitment to the posts of Professors in different State Public Universities remain unchanged. The concerned candidates are advised to visit the website of the Commission at www.opsc.gov.in for any further information," the notification added. 

It is worth mentioning here that the OPSC had announced 183 vacancies of Professor in different State Public Universities under the administrative control of the Higher Education Department.

Pay Scale

Cell-1 of Level 14 of the pay matrix under Odisha Revised Scales of Pay for University Teachers (UGC Scale of Pay) Rule 2019.

Educational Qualifications

A Good academic record, with a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
Minimum of 10 research Publications in the peer-reviewed of UGC listed journals.
A Total Research score of 120.
Minimum 10 years teaching experience in University / College.

How to Apply

Eligible Interested candidates should apply online through OPSC website (opsc.gov.in).

Application Fee

A candidate is required to pay application fee of Rs 400. Candidates belonging to SC/ST and person with disabilities are exempted from payment of fee.

Selection Process

Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of educational qualification and research score. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in the interview.
