OPSC announces vacancy for 659 Group A posts, check details

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Tuesday issued an advertisement for recruitment of 659 posts of veterinary assistant surgeon/ additional veterinary surgeon in Group A (Junior branch II) of Odisha Veterinary Service under Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department.

As per the OPSC advertisement, the recruitments will be in the scale of pay of Rs 56,100 in level 12, cell-1 of pay matrix of OSRP Rules, 2017 with usual dearness and other allowances.

SEBC: 5( 2-W)

SC: 118 (37-W)

ST: 234 (74-W)

Out of the total 659 vacancies, 18 (6-W) vacancies are reserved for persons with disabilities (whose permanent disability is 40% or more) and 5 (2-W) vacancies are reserved for sports persons.

Method of Selection

The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts shall be based on the basis of written examination. The total marks for the written examination is 800.

As per OPSC, there shall be two papers- paper 1 and paper 2 consisting of 200 questions carrying 400 marks. The duration of the paper shall be two and half hours and the questions shall be of MCQ (objective type) pattern.
