Junior Basic Teacher recruitment
The Education Department in Chandigarh has announced openings for the position of Junior Basic Teacher (JBTs).
Eligible candidates are encouraged to submit their applications online through the official website of the Chandigarh Education Department at chdeducation.gov.in.
The registration window commences today, January 24, and concludes on February 19, 2024. The deadline for fee deposition is set for February 22, 2024.

To meet the eligibility criteria, candidates must have attained the essential qualification of being a graduate or possessing an equivalent degree from a recognized university. Additionally, a Diploma in Elementary Education with a duration of not less than 2 years, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), is required. Successful completion of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in accordance with the guidelines established by NCTE is also mandatory.

The age of the candidates should fall within the range of 21 to 37 years as of January 1, 2024.
The selection merit list will be determined by the cumulative marks obtained in the objective type test. A single objective type test, carrying 150 marks, will be administered. The qualifying threshold for the test is set at 40% for all candidates. Notably, no interview process will be conducted in this selection procedure.
The application fee amounts to Rs 1000. However, candidates with disabilities (PwD) are exempted from the payment of fees, following the guidelines issued by the Government of India.
