The Indian Army has invited applications from unmarried males and unmarried females (including Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel), for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC).

Indian Army SSC Recruitment 2021 Vacancy Details

Total Vacancy: 55 Posts

NCC Men: 50 posts (45 for General Category and 5 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Army personnel only).

NCC Women: 5 posts (4 for General Category and 1 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Army personnel only).

Eligibility

Applicants must either be:
•    A citizen of India
•    A subject of Nepal
•    A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

For NCC candidates (including wards of Battle Casualties) 19 to 25 years of age as on January 1, 2022 (born not earlier than  Jan 2, 1997 and not later than Jan 1, 2003)

Educational Qualification

The candidate must have a graduate degree or equivalent with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. Those studying in graduation final year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years of three/four years degree course respectively. Such students will need to secure overall aggregate of minimum 50% marks in degree course if selected in interview, failing which their candidature will be CANCELLED.

Tenure of Engagement

Short Service Commission will be granted to Male and Female in the Regular Army for 14 years i.e. for an initial period of 10 years extendable by a further period of 4 years. 

Training

The duration of training is 49 weeks at OTA, Chennai. Selected candidates will be detailed for Pre-Commission training at OTA, Chennai according to their position in the final order of merit, up to the number of available vacancies, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.

Candidates will neither be allowed to marry during the period of training nor will s/he be allowed to live with parents/Guardians.

Candidates must not marry until they complete the full training at the Officers Training Academy.

Step 1: Visit the official portal of the Indian Army, www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
Step 2: Open the homepage and link on the link that reads, Click on ‘Officer Entry Apply/Login’ and then click ‘Registration’
Step 3: The applicant will be redirected to a new webpage for registration. Fill the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully. After getting registered, click on ‘Apply Online’ under Dashboard.
Step 4: A new webpage ‘Officers Selection - ‘Eligibility’ will open. Then click ‘Apply’ shown against Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Course and fill the application form.
Step 5: Preview the details and submit the filled application form. Download a copy of it for future reference.
