The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has issued an advertisement for conducting a special recruitment drive for assistant professors.
IIT Kanpur has invited applications from Indian nationals belonging to reserved categories -SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ (PwD- VH, OH, HH- under the special recruitment drive.
The faculty will be engaged for the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Design, Earth Sciences, Economic Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Industrial and Management Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Space Science and Astronomy, and Sustainable Energy Engineering.

IIT Kanpur Vacancy Details
Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, good academic record in all preceding degrees.
For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on contract basis for the first three years, and can be regularized afterwards. For those with three or more years of post-PhD teaching/ research/ industrial experience, regular appointment can be made. Reservation in direct recruitment will be as per the provisions of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019.
The details of pay scale admissible at the time of joining
Assistant Professor Grade I Basic Pay: 1,01,500 - 1,67,400
Assistant Professor Grade II (Contract) Basic Pay: 89,900 - 1,17,200
Assistant Professor Grade II (Contract) Basic Pay: 89,800 - 98,200
The pay carries all other allowances as admissible to a Central Government employee stationed at Kanpur.
