The Public Information Unit (PIU) of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has issued a notification to appoint consultants at its headquarters.
As per the official notification, three consultants will be engaged (purely on contractual basis) in Public Information Unit (PIU), initially for a period of six months and extendable further as per the requirement of the university. The interested candidates may apply through online only in the prescribed application form. Hard copy will not be accepted.
The last date for the receipt of the application is October 20, 2021, the notification read.

1. Senior Consultant: 1 Post Remuneration: Rs 50,000- Rs 60,000
Essential Qualification and Experience: -Must have a PG degree in Management (MBA preferably in Marketing) with 55% & above
-Should have at least 5 years of experience in organizing Educational Conferences/ Events/Meet at National and International level or in Electronic Media/Social Media and Media Management /Open & Distance Learning Student Support in ODL System.
Desirable:
Working knowledge of computers with content writing skills for press releases and ads, Media relations in print & digital publications, & electronic channels, working experience in distance education institutions preferred.
2. Consultant : 2 Posts
Remuneration: Rs 40,000 - 50,000
Essential Qualification and Experience:
-Must have a PG degree with 55% & above and should possess a diploma/Certificate in journalism and mass communication/Public Relation/Media from a recognized university or Government institution.
-At least, 5 years of experience in Advertising, press relations, public relations, media management in higher education industry and extensive experience in planning, implementing and monitoring the Social Media strategy in order to increase brand awareness.
General Instructions and Guidelines
-The educational qualification, experience and other conditions of eligibility as stipulated above against the post shall be determined as on the last date of submitting the application.
-The age of the applicant is preferably below 55 years on the last date of form submission.
-Fulfilment of conditions of minimum qualification shall not necessarily entitle any applicant to be called for an interview.
-Self-attested copies of all Educational and Professional Qualifications, Experience Certificates will have to be submitted at the time of the Interview, uploaded at the time of filling the online application form. An application, without the said documents, is likely to be rejected during the course of screening.
-In case of a large number of candidates, University reserves the right to short-list applicants in any manner as may be considered appropriate and no reason for rejection shall be communicated.
-The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill post advertised, no correspondence, whatsoever, will be entertained from the candidates regarding postal delays, conduct, result and reason for not being shortlisted.
-The number of posts may vary at the discretion of the University. -The University reserves the right to withdraw advertised posts at any time without assigning any reason.
-Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of the interview may also be filled up from the available candidates
