Almonds have been used traditionally in all those healthy ladoos that are eaten to gain strength after pregnancy, and in all the milk-based sweets and desserts. These nuts are eaten mostly on an empty stomach after soaking overnight. Almonds are treasure trove of nutrients and are rich in copper, vitamin E, magnesium, calcium, and riboflavin.

How many almonds should you eat every day?

Ayurvedic doctor Dixa Savaliya in her Insta post says that there is no definite answer as to how much is good for a person. The digestive system of all the individuals is different and hence the number of almonds a person can eat solely depends on his digestive capacity.

If you are planning to add almonds in your daily diet for the first time then you should start with 2 almonds. Soak them overnight and peel and eat. Although 2 sounds a very small number, Dixa says that to start with it is enough.

Once your body adjusts to eating 2 almonds daily for 10 days without any digestive troubles, you can increase the number to 5 almonds and continue it for 21 days.

After 3 weeks you can increase the amount to maximum 10 almonds a day and that is enough to work as a supplement and provide the necessary nutrients to the body for a normal person.

People having a digestive capacity working in top gear can increase the amount from 12, 15, 18 and to 20. But they must exercise regularly and drink adequate amount of water so that almonds are digested properly.
