Even then you must be aware of the fact that a few such items and equipment have been linked with cancer and their use should be stopped or avoided as much as possible.
Refined sugar
No festival in India is complete without sweets. However, eating refined sugar in excess can increase the number of cancer cells in the body. It can also cause inflammation and increase the risk of diabetes. So, it is better to eat sugary products in small proportions.
Plastic bottles
BPA used for making plastic bottles can lead to hormonal imbalance and reduce the body’s immunity. Hence, its regular use should be avoided.
Processed meals
According to a French study, those who eat processed and packaged food have a higher chance of getting cancer as compared to those who eat home-cooked food.
Processed meat
Meat is processed for longer shelf life by using techniques like fermenting, salting, or curing which attract disease and infection-causing bacteria and in the long run can cause cancer . Importantly, red processed meat should be avoided at all costs.
Canned foods
The canned containers are lined with BPA which is extremely bad for health and has been one of the causes of cancer. Such foods contain a high level of toxicity that can increase cancer cells in the body.
Non-stick pans and utensils
If food is cooked at a very high temperature, then the PFC coating on the non-stick pans and utensils can start leaking into the food which is highly dangerous. Importantly, the gases that are emitted by this non-stick cookware are equally dangerous to health and can cause cancer.
Aluminum foil
When food is cooked or stored in aluminum foil, it starts leaking into the food which can lead to cancer.
