Ingredients
• Moong dal 1 cup
• Elephant apple (1 inch slice) 2-3 pieces
• Raw banana (cube shape) 1/2 cup
• Colocasia (cube shape) 1/4 cup
• Ginger 1 inch
• Cumin seed 1/2 tsp
• Whole red chili 2 no.
• Bay leaf 1-2 no.
• Roasted cumin-red chili powder 1 tsp
• Coconut (grated) 2 tbsp
• Ghee 1 tbsp
• Salt as needed
Instructions:
First wash and drain the moong dal and keep it aside. In a pressure cooker, heat ghee. Put in red chilies, bay leaves and saute for one minute. Then add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle. Then, put the drained moong dal along with all the cut vegetables, crushed ginger, salt and 2-3 cup water. Mix everything using a spatula and cover the lid of the pressure cooker.
Cook for 1-2 whistles or till all the vegetables are done well. Turn off heat. Allow the steam to escape automatically and till then keep aside the pressure cooker. Next, sprinkle grated coconut and roasted cumin-red chili powder and give it a mix.
Serve hot with rice topped with ghee and Ouu khatta .

Ingredients
• 1 cup toor dal
• 7-8 cubes of yam
• ¼ cup pumpkin, cubes
• 2 raw bananas cut into cubes
• 2 brinjals cut into cubes
• 1 radish
• ¼ cup arum
• 2 sweet potatoes, chopped into cubes
• ¼ pointed gourd cubes
• 2 tsp turmeric powder
• 1 bay leaf
• 2 tsp ghee
• 2 tbsp ginger-green chillies paste
• A pinch of asafoetida
• 3-4 dry red chillies
• ½ grated coconut
• 2 tbsp cumin
• 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
• Salt, according to taste
Instruction:
Soak the toor dal for an hour before cooking. Also, soak the vegetables for some time. Dry-roast one tablespoon of cumin seeds and two red chillies and grind them to a fine powder. Take two cups of water in a kadhai, then add the soaked dal, ginger-chilli paste, salt, and turmeric powder. The dal will be cooked till it is half-cooked. Now, you have to add the vegetables and cook the mixture till the vegetables are tender. Take another pan and heat some ghee. Now, add the bay leaf, cumin seeds, and red chilli, and let the seeds splutter. Put a pinch of asafoetida and turn off the heat. Add the spice powder to the boiled dal and cook for a minute to infuse the flavours. Before serving the hot Dalma with rice, roti or poori, addsome grated coconut to it.
