Rath Yatra: Lord of the Universe steps out, skies offer ‘Pushpanjali’ in form of rain
As the sacred town of Puri echoed with the chants of "Jai Jagannath", a gentle rain graced the skies, no less than a divine tribute to the Chaturdha Murti. Devotees watched in awe and reverence as Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Mahaprabhu Jagannath emerged from the sanctum sanctorum in the grand Pahandi Bije ritual during Rath Yatra.
But this was no ordinary rain.
Many devotees believe it was the Gods themselves, showering celestial flowers in the form of raindrops, welcoming the Holy Trinity on their sacred journey to Gundicha Temple.
As the Lords swayed to the rhythm of ancient chants and the beating of gongs, nature responded with its own symphony—cool winds, grey skies, and a sacred drizzle that touched the chariots and crowned the deities.

The streets of Puri were soaked not just in water but in devotion, emotion, and divine energy. Umbrellas and raincoats could not shield hearts from being drenched in bhakti, as lakhs stood still, hands folded, tears in eyes, witnessing what they believe is not mere ritual, but darshan of the divine on Earth.
As Mahaprabhu ascended Nandighosa, the drizzle turned softer, almost as if the heavens bowed in silence. Truly, when the Lord of the Universe steps out, even the skies come down in reverence.
