Three chariots near Gundicha temple
After a brief halt, the Holy Trinity- Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on Monday reached their aunt’s house - Gundicha temple as part of their annual nine-day sojourn.
The deities will be ushered into the ‘Adapa Mandap’ by the servitors after pahandi rituals tomorrow.
Earlier in the day, all three chariots reached the Gundicha temple after they were pulled by the devotees on the second consecutive day on Monday.
This year’s Rath Yatra was unique and rare as multiple rituals including Netra Utsav and Nabajouban darshan of the deities were conducted on the same day.
The chariot of Lord Balabhadra first reached the Gundicha temple, followed by Devi Subhadra and then Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosa chariot.
Elaborate arrangements were put in place by the district administration for completing the chariot-pulling process today.
Devotees were soaked in spirituality and emotions as they got ample opportunity to get darshan of the Holy Trinity atop their respective chariots for two days.
From lighting diyas to offering bhoga, the devotees sought the blessings of the deities.
