Rath Yatra or Ratha Jatra, the annual sojourn of Mahaprabhu Jagannath and His Sibling Deities Goddess Shubhadra and Lord Balabhadra from Srimandir to Gundicha Temple (their aunt's place), resumed today. All three chariots reached their destination, Saradhabali near Gundicha temple.
Elaborate security arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of the festival. As this year's Rath Yatra is a two-day affair, the chariot pulling was halted on Sunday and resumed today.

The chariot of Lord Balabhadra on Monday reached Gundicha Temple after the resumption of the chariot pulling. This year, Rath Yatra is being held for two days- a rare ritual that is happening after a gap of 53 years.

Pulling of chariots, Lord Balabhadra's 'Taladhwaja', Devi Subhadra's 'Darpadalana' and Mahaprabhu Jagannath's 'Nandighosa', is likely to resume soon.
On Sunday, Lord Balabhadra's Chariot Taladhwaja halted at Marichikote Chhak, Devi Subhadra's Darpadalana Chariot near Srikrishna Cinema Hall and Lord Jagannath's chariot Nandighosa halted after moving some distance from Singhadwara.
