Emotions ran high in the pilgrim town Puri on Wednesday as devotees resumed pulling of the chariots of Goddess Subhadra and Lord Jagannath which had halted at some distance prior to reaching the Gundicha temple.
Even though the chariot of Lord Balabhadra had reached Gundicha temple on the occasion of Rath Yatra on Tuesday, the pulling of chariots of Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath had to be stopped at Badasankha and Mausima Chhak.
Scores of devotees got the unique opportunity to have a glimpse of the deities atop their respective chariots for long hours. There was no drop in the energy and enthusiasm among the devotees who got a chance to witness the grand Rath Yatra.
“I had come for the first time to attend the Rath Yatra celebrations in Puri from Jamshedpur. With Lord’s blessing, I got prasad and it was indeed a divine experience,” said a devotee.
Another devotee said, “It is certainly a dream come true for me as I got an opportunity to have a glimpse of the Lord and pull His chariot. I feel blessed.” It was also observed that several devotees were dipped in spirituality and sang bhajans during the entire route to Gundicha temple.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the district administration for hassle-free completion of the pulling of the chariots and to give adequate chances to the devotees as well.
