Constitution Day 2022: Here is the history of the ‘holy’ book of independent India

In India, Constitution Day is observed on November 26 each year. The day is also known as the 'Samvidhan Divas,' and it commemorates the adoption of India's Constitution. The Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Indian Constitution on November 26, 1949, and it went into effect on January 26, 1950.

On November 19, 2015, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment notified the Government of India's decision to observe November 26 as "Constitution Day" every year in order to promote Constitutional values among citizens. It should be noted that American historian Granville Seward Austin described the Indian Constitution, written by BR Ambedkar, as "first and foremost a social document." Ambedkar chaired the Constituent Assembly's drafting committee and was instrumental in the creation of the constitution.
