Always keep the receipts

Make sure that you ask for the receipt of the products you are purchasing. Also, take a snapshot of that receipt and keep it stored in your folder so that if the product turns out to be faulty you can ask for an exchange or repair from the seller.

Don’t try DIY methods at home

At times a product gives some starting problem or develops an issue after working for a few days. Most people have a habit of trying DIY methods at home that end up causing more damage to the product. If the product is in warranty period then the best way is to take it back to the seller who is responsible for repairing it or replacing it.

Always compare the prices

Although every product has an MRP, it is up to the shopkeeper to sell it at his own price or below MRP. So it is always better to compare the prices and shop from a place that offers discounts, but same quality as well as good service.

Read the description

From the manufacturing date, items/ingredients, to the expiry date, and many more things, the packaging should have all the details and a proper description of the product. Go through all these details to understand the usage, benefits, and even shortcomings of the product and know whether it is exactly the type of product you are looking for or not.

Follow instructions

Each product comes with instructions regarding how you must use it. Follow these instructions, and call the seller or customer care if you do not understand certain things or operations. If required ask the seller to arrange for a training session to use and operate a particular product. It is one of your consumer rights to understand the complete operation of a product.
