With Covid-19 taking back seat in Odisha, devotees have been allowed to get the darshan of Lord Alarnath in Bramhagiri during Anasara starting from June 15.
Devotees were deprived of Lord Alarnath’s attire rituals during the last two years due to the outbreak of the pandemic in the State. The famous Anasara or Anabasara rituals were performed sans devotees during the period.
With the relaxation of the restrictions, it is expected that a large number of devotees will throng the place this year to get darshan of the deity as usual.
Keeping in view of the expected situation, elaborate arrangements have been made by the district administration. A preparatory meeting was recently held by Puri district administration and Bramhagiri block authorities in which several officials, the servitors of Lord Alarnath, local leaders and the volunteers of different social organisations participated.
In the meeting, emphasis was given on law and order, disciplined darshan, traffic control, drinking water supply, beautification of the temple and performance of all the rituals in a timely manner during the Anasara period.
“Anasara darshan of Lord Alarnath will take place following Snana Purnima of Lord Jagannath. Lakhs of devotees are expected to throng the place after a lull of two years induced by Covid-19. The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth darshan of devotees. Hopefully, things will pass of peacefully and in a disciplined manner with Lord Alarnath’s grace,” said Puri ADM Dilip Kumar Mohapatra.
Notably, after the retirement of the ailing deities to the Anasara chamber in Srimandir following the royal customary bath on the Snana Purnima, the devotees rush to Brahmagiri in large numbers for the darshan of Lord Alarnath.
Legend has it that the darshan of Lord Alarnath in the attire of Lord Narayan during the Anasara period is equal to the darshan of Lord Jagannath.
