Sonepur: Police arrested a man for allegedly killing his two-year-old son by drowning him in a pond here in Amarpali village under Biramaharajpur block, sources said on Thursday.
A tiff with his wife is said to be the reason behind such a heinous act of the father.
But Bhoomisuta was staying with her family members as there was a tiff between the couple due to some unknown reason.
However, Panchanan had been to his in-laws house to bring his son back, but Bhoomisuta did not allow her husband to take her son back. Following this incident, Panchanan had again been to bring his son back but was again sent back empty handed.
Agitated over this, Panchanan took his son away from its mother while everyone was fast asleep in the night and drowned the innocent child in a pond.
“The father took the child away while it was asleep and drowned him in the pond,” police informed.
